CTUIR COVID-19 WEEKLY Update | May 7, 2021

Yellowhawk Tribal Health reported a total of FIVE new cases of COVID-19 this week. In an effort to prevent further community spread, many of our planned community events scheduled to take place this weekend have been cancelled:

  • Nixyaawii Celebration Committees Annual Root Feast Pow Wow = Cancelled

  • 39th Annual Yellowhawk Fun Run = Cancelled

  • Yellowhawk's "Paint With Me Class" = Cancelled

  • Nixyaawii Community School Prom = Postponed

The B.1.1.7 variant of the virus is now the dominant strain in Oregon and is even more infectious, possibly 60% more infectious, than the original strain.

We cannot let our guard down!

Our fight against this invisible enemy has always been and will always be dependent on a unified effort. We must continue to practice social distancing, wear face coverings, and wash hands thoroughly and frequently. Your ultimate plan of protective action is to get tested regularly and to get vaccinated!

Please stay safe this Mothers Day weekend.
